Brian Skoog is known for his “strong voice” and “fine lyric tenor.” Highlights of his 2020-2021 season include Roderick in Phillip Glass’s The Fall of the House of Usher with Opera Maine and Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte with The Cleveland Opera. In 2018, Skoog performed with Central City Opera, singing the role of Tamino in Die Zauberflöte for the Nina Odescalchi Kelly Family Matinee and the dual role of Larry/Matt in The Face on the Barroom Floor. Other recent operatic highlights include Tebaldo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Tito (La clemenza di Tito), the Chevalier (Dialogues of the Carmelites), and the Witch (Hänsel und Gretel). Recent seasons include leading and supporting roles with Central City Opera, The Cleveland Opera, Cleveland Opera Theater, Dayton Opera, Nashville Opera, Toledo Opera, and Utah Festival Opera. An active concert performer and recitalist, he has recently performed with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, as well as in a series of performances of Schumann’s Dichterliebe in partnership with The Cleveland Opera.
