Opera in the Community
bringing opera to you
We are proud to present a wide variety of free, public performances and educational programs throughout the region. Our goals are to raise awareness of the arts, to enhance the quality of life, and to educate audience members about the magical art form that is opera. Read about our community programs below and check out the event calendar for a complete list of upcoming events.

Brown Bag opera
You bring the lunch. We bring the opera. Join us each month during our season for a lunch break performance by our Jan Miller Studio Artists. Bring a lunch and enjoy it while you listen to favorite arias, duets, and popular songs.

Opera Al fresco
Beautiful singing with open-air ambience. Enjoy a performance outdoors in one of Pensacola's many parks, outdoor plazas, or unique venues. These 45-minute, family-friendly concerts are the perfect way to experience the arts alongside the beauty of nature.

Pours & Encores
Opera pairs well with any libation. Our popular Pours & Encores series brings live music to area breweries, bars, and pubs. Discover a more casual side of opera, enjoying your beverage of choice while we perform popular tunes and drinking songs.

Opera after dark
Center stage and under the stars. An annual concert at UWF Museum plaze featuring food trucks, glow sticks, and free live music center stage and under the stars! Held in late October, Opera After Dark is the perfect family-friendly spooky season event!

Opera University
Learn more about all things opera! Opera University is your opportunity to learn more about the operatic repertoire, our upcoming productions, and the people behind the scenes with informative discussions at the Opera Center. Is there something you'd like to learn about? Contact Cody Martin, Music Director, with any suggestions for upcoming discussion topics!

Gallery Talks
Discover intersections between music and visual arts. Take a look at opera in new ways with our recurring series of Gallery Talks with the Pensacola Museum of Art. These hour-long presentations—typically held in anticipation of our mainstage productions—introduce audience members to the visual and performing arts in new ways, featuring speakers from the opera in collaboration with art curators.
