Dennis Jesse

Dennis Jesse, baritone, is a full professor at Louisiana State University, where he serves as the Galante Professor of Voice and Manager of LSU Opera productions. A versatile performer, he has appeared in more than forty operettas, numerous musical theater productions, and a wide range of operatic repertoire, including the title roles in Rigoletto, Don Giovanni, Gianni Schicchi, Nabucco, and Il barbiere di Siviglia. His concert work includes performances of the Verdi Requiem, Mozart Requiem, Messiah, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, and Ein deutsches Requiem, as well as appearances at Carnegie Hall. Recent and upcoming engagements include Soloist, Rossini Stabat Mater, Seven Last words of Christ and Messiah, Germont in La traviata with Pensacola Opera and Anchorage Opera, Sharpless in Madame Butterfly with Opéra Louisiane, Gianni Schicchi with Anchorage Opera, Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Charlottesville Opera and Kentucky Opera, and Scarpia in Tosca with Pensacola Opera and Opéra Louisiane.
