Recognized for excellence by Yale University School of Music and a member of the Kennedy Center Partners In Education, Pensacola Opera’s educational programs have positively impacted students, teachers and administrators for over 15 years. With an ever expanding repertoire of age-appropriate programs, Pensacola Opera’s Artists in Residence share their joy of opera, enchanting and educating young minds throughout the Gulf Coast.
Summer Opera Camps
Week long summer camp sessions introduce children and teens ages 8-17 to the magic of opera including vocal coaching, dramatic training, audition techniques, and set design. Each camp session culminates in a final performance by the campers, for their friends and families.
Invite Pensacola Opera’s Artists in Residence into your classroom for an interactive workshop!
These young, professional singers will share their talent as they perform well-known opera scenes, introduce your students to opera terminology, and discuss their careers. The workshop will close with Q & A from students. Follow up by having your students attend one of our dress rehearsals. This program can be customized to fit within your class schedules.
Bring opera to your school for free!
We want to help students and teachers recognize that opera is not only fun but a multidisciplinary art form which allows you to explore the arts and its connections across the curriculum. Pensacola Opera seeks to support teachers and parents by offering programs that are designed to align with today’s standards. We also include study guides that that will help your students relate!
Student Dress Rehearsal
Pensacola Opera’s Artists in Residence will even visit your class prior to the performances to help prepare students for their trip to the opera. For more information or to attend a Student Dress Rehearsal, contact Cody Martin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
