Popularized by Bugs Bunny as the Rabbit of Seville, Rossini’s ebullient score is filled with one bel canto masterpiece after another. Enjoy the hilarity as Figaro rescues the lovelorn Rosina from Dr. Bartolo, uniting her with her true love, Count Almaviva.

Saenger Theatre 118 South Palafox Street, PensacolaRodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel changed the face of American musical theatre when it premiered on Broadway in 1945. Carousel barker Billy Bigelow falls for mill worker Julie Jordan—but when the unthinkable happens, Billy must answer for his actions and try to make things right. Closing our 40th Anniversary Season, this musical of operatic proportions comes to Pensacola in a visually stunning production from Virginia Opera and set designer Erhard Rom. Richard Rodgers’s timeless score is full of favorite tunes, including “If I Loved You,” “June is Bustin’ Out All Over,” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Carousel will be helmed by newly appointed Music Director Cody Martin, leading members of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and Pensacola Opera Chorus. On November 12, sixteen thrilling vocalists will take center stage at the historic Saenger Theatre—alongside the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra—to present an unparalleled one-night-only gala concert, honoring the history of musical storytelling in Pensacola and looking forward to the bright future of Pensacola Opera!
Featuring some of the greatest arias, ensembles, and choruses from the operatic repertoire, Forty Forward will also showcase Pensacola’s proud reputation as a true arts community, including collaborations with the Choral Society of Pensacola, the Pensacola Children’s Chorus, and Ballet Pensacola. Video and photo presentations will also look back on some of Pensacola Opera’s most beloved productions and memories.
